Planet Ocean Aquarium

Located in the Odysseum district of Montpellier, Planet Ocean offers a great immersive adventure, from the depths of the oceans to the far reaches of space. Designed for the whole family, the tour combines aquariums, themed spaces, interactive experiences and scientific discoveries.

Over nine stops, young and old meet more than 3,000 animals: tropical fish, sharks, rays, seahorses, reptiles, birds and African penguins. The visit combines discovery, wonder and awareness of protecting natural habitats.

From the depths to the stars

Planet Ocean is more than an aquarium. The tour also invites visitors to understand climate phenomena, feel the force of the Roaring Forties and contemplate the Earth in an experience devoted to space. This original approach connects the marine world, biodiversity and major environmental issues.

The shark tank, the rays and the penguins are among the highlights of the visit. Free activities, such as shark feeding, penguin encounters and some screenings, are regularly offered and included in the entry ticket.

A convenient outing at Odysseum

Planet Ocean is on Allée Ulysse in the Odysseum district, right next to the shopping centre, restaurants, a cinema and many leisure activities. It is an excellent idea for an outing, especially for families on a rainy or very hot day, or when you want a break from the beach.

A Planetary Dome also offers sessions devoted to observing and discovering the starry sky. These sessions are booked in addition to the visit, depending on the programme available.

Opening hours and prices

Planet Ocean is generally open every day. Outside school holidays, it is usually open from 10 am to 6 pm, with last entry at 5 pm. During the April holidays and the summer holidays, it usually stays open until 7 pm, with last entry at 5:30 pm. It is closed on 25 December and 1 January; opening hours may change exceptionally, so it is wise to check them before your visit.

In 2026, an adult ticket (13 and over) costs 19,50 €. Entry is 14 € for children aged 5 to 12, 6,50 € for children aged 3 to 4 and free for under-3s. A family pack for two adults and two children aged 5 to 12 costs 61 €.
